January 2017

My first blog post of 2017 also happens to be the 1 year anniversary of my blog!! Here’s everything that happened in January (ups and downs)…

1st New Years Day

I celebrated New Years day with my family at my sister’s house. I was extremely hungover but devoured my roast dinner nonetheless. Here’s my Gran wearing the secret santa gift that she received.

2nd Walk along the cliffs

On the second day of 2017 Dan and I grabbed some food at my favourite food place EVER (Boo Koos) and took a walk along the cliffs at Lizard point. It was  bleddy cold but it was a great start to my one week holiday from work.

7th Enterprise Winter Ball

Dan and I attended his works do at the Celtic Manor in Newport. It was probably the fanciest party I’ve ever been to. The Saturday previous to this I was in Zone so it would be fair to say that I felt slightly out of place. BUT there was free wine and a free bar so things relaxed pretty quick and I had an amazing night!

8th Bristol Zoo

Hungover, AGAIN. On the way home from Newport we stopped in Bristol to visit the zoo. It looked so small from the outside and I was slightly disappointed but it actually turned out to be incredible! Although, the stench of the hippo enclosure made my hangover 100x worse…

17th I Left work

When I returned to work I made the decision to resign from my job. I realised that it was making me very negative and I felt like it was changing my whole demeanour. It was emotional leaving, the staff were always so incredible and I feel so lucky to have worked with them. It was also the place that offered me my first job and I have grown so much since and gained an immense amount of work and life experience. Here’s me on my first and last day of work…

Towards the end of January we lost an incredible woman. Dan’s Gran always made me feel welcome from the first day I met her, many years ago. I will always treasure the gifts that she handcrafted for me and I am forever grateful to have been a tiny part of her life.
